The BIGVIZ is an exploration in visualizing the big ideas presented on the TED mainstage. Two visual cartographers, David Sibbet and Kevin Richards, created over 700 spontaneous sketches of the presenters’ ideas. Sibbet and Richards used Autodesk Sketchbook Pro software, running on Wacom Cintiq tablets and rendered on a Perceptive Pixel multi-touch display. With these tools, they presented the big picture to illustrate the power of interactive visualization, communicate ideas visually, and demonstrate the central principles of design innovation.
The BIGVIZ experience is captured in an interactive pdf book that compiles the sketches, a video on multi-touch technology, and a movie that strives to capture the spirit of the TED Talks.
