An interesting non-profit organization was launched at the TechCrunch50 earlier this week. Named The Whuffie Bank, it’s hoping to reward users who have a positive impact on the web community by giving them bits of a new social currency every time they contribute to the greater good. Whuffie Bank will monitor a user’s activity across the Internet, and as they add positive contributions – blog posts, comments, etc., they will be rewarded with Whuffie. Ideally this currency would then be exchangeable for real or virtual services.
