Japanese mobile phone giant Docomo (with the help of the Sharp and Olympus Corporations, and a Japanese reforestation group known as “More Trees”) has developed a mobile phone called the “Touch Wood” built from the excess materials collected during forest thinning. According to Docomo, the use of thinned wood assists in the health of overgrown forests.
